The State Library of NSW in Sydney’s CBD offers both an historical and modern versatile Sydney conference and function venue. With its flexible event spaces and rooftop garden this venue can be uterlised for wedding receptions up to 190 guests seated, conferences or business meetings.
Located in the heart of Sydney looking over the spectacular Botanic Gardens this beautiful heritage listed venue and historic location is ideal for a wide variety of events with flexible event spaces, excellent catering and great food.
The neo-classic splendour of the Mitchell Wing boasts stunning Galleries, perfect for large product launches or cocktail receptions. The sandstone Dixson Room, featuring views across the Domain, can be utilised for conferences, wedding receptions, cocktails or banquets. Rich in ambience, the Shakespeare Room is ideal for intimate dinners and receptions.
The contemporary Macquarie Street Wing houses an auditorium with a fully equipped projection room, ensuring the success of presentations, conferences and lectures. For smaller events, the Seminar Rooms are ideal, the roof top garden providing delegates with a unique break-out area. Spacious, bright and recently refurbished the Glasshouse Cafe can host breakfasts, dinners and receptions.

The nearest parking station is Sydney Hospital, located on Hospital Road.
If you have a Mobility Parking sticker, you can use the parking spaces at Shakespeare Place, on the corner of Macquarie Street and the Cahill Expressway.
Public Transport:
The closest train stations are Martin Place (200 metres) and St James (450 metres). Ferries arrive into Circular Quay which is only a short walk away.
The Sydney Explorer bus stops outside the Library on Macquarie Street.
